Introduction

Activity 1: If you do not already have a Google account you will have to sign up for one. Go to http://docs.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=99488 and review all the gadgets you can create on Google docs.

Activity 2: Let's practice a motion chart. Click on the Motion Chart then click on "see it in action". Click on the vertical and horizontal bars and see the data change. Click on the various part of the chart and then click play and watch the chart move. Save the copy for your files and it will upload to your Google docs folder. This example will help you better create your own motion chart.

Activity 3: Create a motion chart. Open an Excel spreadsheet and create a spreadsheet that you want to see move. Open Google docs, spreadsheet and import the spreadsheet you created. It is important to note that the first column is the entity (the bubbled item), the second column is time (year), and the next two columns are a numeric value.

Activity 4: Create a survey form using Google docs. Using multiple choice survey questions. You will share your form for everyone to answer and you will collect that data. Survey questions can be what type of music you like to pets you like. Create 5 survey questions.

Activity 5: Create your own Google gadget. Choose another Google gadget and create it.
